🔧 Product Description
This genuine Volvo Penta wiring harness is an OEM electrical connection component used in the engine/chassis electrical wiring installation. It is manufactured to the original Volvo dimensional, material and interface requirements so the serviced assembly retains its designed alignment, sealing, load capacity and operating reliability. In service, it routes protected power, ground and signal circuits between the specified control-system components. Selection must be confirmed by OEM part number 17433969, the exact engine/product model, serial number and installed configuration.
🚤 Compatibility
Typically suits:
- Volvo Penta IPS40-A
- Volvo Penta D13C8-B MP
- Volvo Penta D13C4-B MP
- Engine Family: IPS, D
⚙️ Key Features
- OEM Volvo Penta part number 17433969
- IMU sensor pigtail harness
- System group: Cables and Fuses
- Net weight: 0.028 kg
- Fits IPS and D-series marine installations
🔌 Function
Routes protected power, ground and signal circuits between the specified control-system components. Inspect mating terminals and seals, secure the harness away from heat and chafe points, and verify continuity and operating values after installation.
⚠️ Common Signs of Failure
- Intermittent or lost signal from the IMU sensor
- Stored fault codes relating to the sensor circuit
- Corroded, green or moisture-affected connector pins
- Chafed, cut or broken conductors along the pigtail
- Loose or damaged connector housing that will not latch
🛠️ Service Notes
- Compare the new harness with the old one before fitting — check the connector types, the number of pins and the branch lengths, and lay it out alongside the old loom to confirm every branch reaches its component
- Disconnect the batteries before unplugging or fitting a harness, and support the loom as you work so its weight never hangs on a connector or a bulkhead grommet
- Route it along the original path and secure it with the original clips and ties, clear of hot exhaust surfaces, sharp edges and anything that moves; leave a service loop at each connector rather than pulling a branch tight
- Push every connector home until the lock latches and protect the joints with a marine dielectric grease — an intermittent electrical fault is far more often a partly seated or salt-corroded pin than a broken wire
- Renewing the harness is the right repair where insulation is chafed, brittle or oil-soaked, or where corrosion has tracked inside the connector bodies; patch repairs in a damp engine bay tend to fail again, and any single conductor that is repaired should be joined with tinned marine cable of the same gauge, a proper crimp and adhesive-lined heat-shrink
