🔧 Product Description

Dunbier Bearing Buddy USA Protectors for LandCruiser Hubs - Part Number: 1781

A spring-loaded grease reservoir and hub protector set for Dunbier LandCruiser six-stud hubs. The moving piston maintains light positive grease pressure as the hub cools after immersion, helping reduce the tendency for water to be drawn past the inner seal.

⚙️ Key Features

• Spring-loaded grease-pressure piston

• Grease nipple allows replenishment without removing the hub

• Pair services one axle

• Protective plated or manufacturer finish

• Useful for boat trailers exposed to repeated immersion

📏 Specifications

• Compatibility: Dunbier LandCruiser six-stud hubs

• Reference: Mackay A1306

• Quantity: Pair

• Press-fit hub-bore dimensions must match exactly

• Does not replace the need for correctly adjusted bearings and sound inner seals

🔄 Cross Reference & Related Parts

• Dunbier: 1781

• Related PVC protector covers: Dunbier 1782

• Dust-cap alternative: Dunbier 1740/1740P

• Use only a protector with the correct measured hub bore

🚤 Trailer Compatibility & Application

• Suits Dunbier LandCruiser six-stud hubs

• Compatible with braked or non-braked hubs only where the cap bore and internal clearance match

• The LandCruiser and Trojan versions are not direct substitutes for standard hub protectors

🔌 Function

Maintains a small reserve of grease and slight positive pressure at the outer hub to help protect bearings from water entry.

Common signs of wear or replacement:

• Protector is loose in the hub bore

• Piston remains fully extended or will not move

• Grease leaks excessively around the outer edge

• Grease nipple is blocked or damaged

• Corrosion, dents or spring failure

🛠️ Installation & Safety

• Measure the clean hub bore before fitting

• Drive the protector in squarely using a suitable block or driver

• Fill gradually until the piston reaches the indicated operating position

• Do not over-pressurise the hub, which can force grease past the inner seal

• Inspect and service wheel bearings at normal intervals

📦 Condition

• Genuine Dunbier Marine Products trailer component

• Brand new

• Supplied as one pair of bearing protectors

• Supplied in original or equivalent packaging
