• Drive or press the cup in square, bearing only on its back face with a tool that matches its diameter, until it is hard against its shoulder — a cup that is not fully home throws the whole bearing setting out
• Never strike a bearing race directly with a steel hammer and never press through the rollers
• Lubricate with the specified oil or grease and set the bearing preload or end float by the method and figures given in the workshop manual for your unit
