🔌 Function

Provides a compact caged needle-roller bearing between a 22 mm shaft and 26 mm housing bore. Measure shaft and housing fits, renew contaminated lubricant and related seals, and install using force only through the race being fitted. Set preload or end float to the applicable Volvo Penta specification.

🛠️ Service Notes

• Press needle roller bearings in with a correctly sized mandrel — never drive them with a hammer, and never strike the cage or the shell directly
• Press on the marked end face of the shell and keep the bearing square to the bore; a drawn cup that tilts as it enters is scrap
• Check the bore and shaft for wear, scoring and size before fitting, and make sure both are spotlessly clean, as a needle bearing has no tolerance for grit
• Press to the depth called for by the workshop procedure rather than driving it hard up against a shoulder
• Leave the protective grease in place until fitting, handle the needles with clean hands only, and prime the bearing with the lubricant specified for that assembly before it goes into service
