This genuine Volvo Penta inner ring is a hardened bearing inner race manufactured for the matched needle or roller-bearing assembly used in the DuoProp, DPS and XDP lower-unit propeller-shaft bearing race. It is manufactured to the original Volvo Penta dimensional, material and interface requirements so the serviced assembly retains its designed alignment, sealing, load capacity and operating reliability. In service, it forms the replaceable hardened race for the lower-unit propeller-shaft bearing, preserving shaft support and correct bearing geometry. 🔌 Function

Forms the replaceable hardened race for the lower-unit propeller-shaft bearing, preserving shaft support and correct bearing geometry. Fit the ring squarely to an undamaged shaft and inspect the matched bearing; a scored or pitted race should not be paired with a reused bearing.

• Pitting, flaking or scoring on the hardened running surface
• A visible wear track or measurable reduction in race diameter
• Heat discolouration caused by lubrication loss or excessive preload
• Excessive radial play in the matched shaft bearing
• Repeat needle or roller damage caused by a worn or loose-fitting race

🛠️ Service Notes

• Renew the inner ring together with the race or bearing it runs against; the two wear as a matched pair and a new ring running in a used race will not last
• Press the ring on squarely, driving only on the face of the ring with a tube or driver that bears on the ring itself — never through the rollers or against the cage
• Check that the shaft or housing seat is clean, undamaged and free of burrs, and that the ring goes fully home against its shoulder
• Where the ring is a heat fit, warm it evenly by the method the workshop manual for your engine describes rather than heating it locally with a flame
• Lubricate the bearing on assembly as the manual specifies, and set any shimming or preload the assembly calls for using the manual's own measuring procedure
