🔧 Product Description

This genuine Volvo Penta screw is an OEM fastener specified for the exact thread, length, strength class and clamped joint used in the legacy Volvo Penta engine or propulsion assembly. It is manufactured to the original Volvo Penta dimensional, material and interface requirements so the serviced assembly retains its designed alignment, sealing, load capacity and operating reliability. In service, it provides the specified clamp load and location for the serviced component. Selection must be confirmed by OEM part number 191523, the exact engine or product model, serial number and installed configuration.

⚙️ Key Features

  • OEM part number 191523
  • Clean the threads, use the specified lubricant or locking compound and tighten to the correct torque and sequence.
  • Quantity varies by assembly, most commonly 10

🔌 Function

Provides the specified clamp load and location for the serviced component. Clean the threads, use the specified lubricant or locking compound and tighten to the correct torque and sequence.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Rounded drive surfaces or cracked fastener head
  • Loss of clamp load, fretting or joint movement
  • Incorrect component alignment after loosening
  • Repeat failure caused by wrong grade, length, torque or reused one-time hardware

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Clean the threads in the casting and check them for damage before fitting; a screw run into a dirty or pulled thread gives a false torque reading and will not hold its load
  • Tighten to the torque given in the workshop manual for your engine rather than by feel, and follow the specified sequence where the joint has one
  • Use the thread locking or sealing compound the manual calls for at that joint — some screws pass into oil, coolant or fuel space and have to seal as well as clamp
  • Renew any screw that is stretched, corroded in the shank, or has damaged threads or a rounded head, and never reuse one that was tightened by a stretch or angle-tighten procedure
  • A little marine-grade anti-seize helps later removal where the manual permits it, but keep it off threads that are meant to take a locking compound
