🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta cover plate used on the flywheel housing of selected D5A and D7A engines. It closes an inspection or access opening in the housing and protects the flywheel and clutch or coupling area.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Missing or loose cover plate
  • Rattling at the flywheel housing
  • Plate bent into contact with rotating parts
  • Cracked mounting holes
  • Dirt or water entering the housing

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Clean both faces and remove all of the old gasket or sealant before refitting; a cover plate only seals if it sits flat on a clean face
  • Check the plate for distortion around the fixing holes and renew it if the flange has been pulled out of shape
  • Fit a new gasket, seal or O-ring rather than reusing the old one, and use sealant only where the manual for your engine calls for it
  • Tighten evenly and progressively to the figures in the workshop manual — these covers are thin and easily bowed by pulling one fixing up first
  • Check for weeps once the engine has been run up to temperature and allowed to cool
