🛠️ Service Notes

• Wipe the dipstick clean before every check, and take the reading with the boat at its normal attitude and following the procedure in the operator's manual for your engine
• Push it fully home to its stop so the marks read correctly, and make sure the seal or grommet at the top seats — one not pushed home lets oil mist out and dirt in
• Fit only the dipstick listed for your engine, as length and mark position are matched to the sump; a substitute will give a false level
• Renew one that is bent, kinked or has worn or unreadable marks, and check the tube is clear and secure in its bracket
