20412284 Grille | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta fan protector fitted around the TD720GE cooling fan and shroud. It works with fan protector 20412285 and shroud 20412365 to reduce accidental contact with the rotating fan.

🚤 Compatibility

Typically suits:

• Volvo Penta TD720GE

• Engine Family: TD

⚙️ Key Features

• Protective grille for the engine cooling fan
• Confirmed on TD720GE cooling packages
• Used with companion protector 20412285
• Mounts to fan shroud 20412365
• Secured with flange screws 20405898
• Engine type: Volvo Penta 7-litre industrial diesel

🔌 Function

Guards the rotating cooling fan while allowing the required airflow through the radiator.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Protector bent into the fan path
• Cracks or broken mounting points
• Rattling or loose grille
• Missing guard exposing the fan
• Restricted airflow from deformation or debris

🛠️ Service Notes

• Clear debris, salt and oily deposits from the grille and from the space behind it whenever it is off — a partly blocked grille restricts the airflow it exists to pass
• Check that the grille locates fully in its aperture and that all its clips and fasteners are present, as a partly retained grille will vibrate and wear its mountings
• Tighten fasteners into plastic or thin sheet gently, enough to hold the grille without distorting or cracking it
• Refit the grille before the engine is run; as well as passing air it guards against contact with what sits behind it
