• Check every terminal clicks fully home and locks before the housing is closed; a terminal that is not seated will back out under vibration
• Make sure all seals, grommets and blanking plugs are present and undamaged, and leave unused cavities plugged so the housing keeps water out
• Support and route the harness so nothing hangs on the housing, and check the connection is dry after the first run
