  • Sealing lip found hardened, cracked or with the garter spring displaced
  • Groove worn into the shaft where the lip has been running

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Treat the seal as a single-use service item and clean both mating surfaces without scratching them
  • Lubricate only where specified and avoid sealants unless the workshop procedure explicitly requires one
  • Lubricate the sealing lip, protect it from keyways during installation and confirm the shaft sealing surface is not grooved
