OEM fastening component used in the turbocharger, exhaust-manifold and charge-air installation. It restores the specified thread, length, strength and clamping arrangement required by the original Volvo Penta assembly.

🔌 Function

Acts as a banjo or union bolt, clamping a pipe eye to its port while carrying the fluid through the drilling in its centre.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Fluid weeping from under the pipe eye or from the head
  • Repeat leak at a joint that has already been pulled up tight
  • Central drilling found blocked with sludge or carbon
  • Sealing washer faces found grooved or the pipe eye found distorted
  • Head found rounded or the thread found stretched from over-tightening

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Tighten to 26 Nm - a hollow screw is easy to stretch or snap by feel, and over-tightening crushes the pipe eye
  • Renew the sealing washers each side of the eye whenever the joint is broken, and check the central drilling is clear before refitting
