🛠️ Service Notes

• Record the position and setting of every linkage, stop and adjuster before the old governor comes off, so the new one can be set up the same way
• Work clean and keep the fuel system covered while the governor is off — dirt entering here does expensive damage downstream
• Fit new gaskets, O-rings and seals on all joint faces, and use new locking devices on any linkage fasteners
• Set linkage travel, stops and speed settings only to the values in the workshop manual for your engine; a governor set outside those limits can let the engine overspeed
• Have the engine run up and the idle, maximum speed and shutdown behaviour checked by someone equipped to do it before the boat goes back into service
