Application-specific 24v starter-element insulator used in the inlet manifold, charge-air and cold-start heater circuit on the listed Volvo Penta engines. Electrically isolates the live 24-volt inlet-heater terminal from the surrounding manifold and mounting hardware.

- Hard starting in cold weather because the inlet heater is not drawing current
- Blown fuse or tripped protection on the heater circuit
- Scorch or arc marks visible around the heater terminal on the manifold
- On strip-down the insulator is cracked, charred or melted, with the terminal shorting to the manifold
- Terminal hardware discoloured by heat and the insulator crumbling when disturbed
