🔌 Function

Carries high-pressure fuel from the mechanical injection pump to the injector for the specified cylinder position.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Sharp diesel smell and fuel spray or misting at the pipe under load
  • Misfire or a knock from one cylinder as delivery to that injector is disturbed
  • Fuel weeping from the cone seat at the pump or injector union
  • On strip-down the cone end is bruised, ovalled or picked up from over-tightening
  • Cracks in the pipe wall at a bend, or chafe marks from contact with adjacent pipes

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Renew all disturbed sealing washers, O-rings, grommets and hose clamps.
  • Confirm the pipe is naturally aligned before tightening; do not pull it into position with the fasteners.
