Retaining clamp used in the remote or kit-type engine-oil filter hose assembly. It secures the specified hose, pipe, cable or accessory without allowing vibration, chafing or connection movement.

🔌 Function

Holds the oil-filter hoses at a fixed point so they cannot chafe against the engine or be worked by vibration.

  • Hose rubbed shiny or worn through where it passes the clamp
  • An oil mist or leak traced to a chafed hose rather than a union
  • Clamp found cracked, sprung open or rusted through
  • Rubber liner perished away so the hose sits on bare metal
  • Fixing hole elongated where the clamp has been moving

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Renew the hose as well if the chafe mark has reached the reinforcement - a remote filter hose runs at full oil pressure
  • Fit the clamp at the original point: moving it changes where the hose flexes and simply relocates the wear
  • Supersedes bracket 3838324, so the old number now brings a clamp
