Closes a machining or service opening in the cylinder block so oil or coolant cannot escape from the passage behind it.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • A weep or drip from a blanked opening on the block rather than from a gasket
  • Oil or coolant loss with the level dropping and no obvious source
  • Plug found loose or partly backed out
  • Thread corroded or damaged in the block
  • Sealing face fretted where the plug has been working

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Use locking fluid 1161075 on the thread as specified - a plug fitted dry in this position can work loose
  • Clean and degrease both threads before applying the locking fluid
  • Supersedes 20890988
