🔌 Function
Provides the hardened bearing surface at the piston pin joint, carrying the load between piston and connecting rod while holding the running clearance.

- Fitting is a machining job - the bushing is pressed in and then sized to the specified pin clearance, not fitted straight from the box
- Measure the piston pin and check its bores for scoring at the same time; a worn pin will wear the new bushing quickly
