🔌 Function

When the coil is energised, its magnetic field moves the armature and internal poppet or spool. This changes the flow path in the connected circuit; when power is removed, the return spring restores the valve to its normal position.

• Valve does not click or change state when powered
• Coil is open circuit, shorted or overheats
• Flow leaks through when the valve should be closed

• Clean the pipework and mating faces and renew the seals or gaskets; grit on the seat is a common cause of a valve that will not close fully
• Make the electrical connection off dry and properly latched, with the connector protected against damp and the loom supported clear of hot and moving parts
• Check the supply voltage is correct for the valve before energising it, and do not leave a valve energised for long periods with no flow through it
• Function test the valve and leak check the joints before closing the installation up
