• Volvo Penta TAD660VE

• Engine Family: TAD
• Year Range: Approximately 2000s-2010s

⚙️ Key Features

• Cover plate for the engine wiring-harness and connector protection
• 0.78 kg
• 2 applications across TAD-series engines
• Supersedes 20798058
• Engine group

🔌 Function

Shields the harness and connectors behind it from heat, spray and mechanical damage, and holds them in their intended position.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Chafed or melted harness insulation where the cover is missing or has been left loose
• Intermittent electrical faults that move when the harness is disturbed
• Cover found cracked, distorted or with elongated fixing holes
• Fixings found loose, missing or corroded into the casting
• Heat marking or rub-through on the inner face of the cover

🛠️ Service Notes

• Inspect the harness and connectors behind the cover while it is off - a missing cover usually means chafe damage further along the run
• Supersedes 20798058, so the old number brings this plate
• Refit all the original fixings; a cover held on one screw vibrates and does more damage than none
