🔌 Function

Ducts air between the fan and the radiator core, keeping the fan working on the core rather than recirculating air around it.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Coolant temperature creeping up at low boat or machine speed while it is normal at speed
  • A rattle or buzz from the shroud, or fan tip contact marks
  • Shroud found cracked at its mounting points or around the fan aperture
  • Mounting rubbers perished so the shroud sits against the radiator
  • Debris and chaff packed between shroud and core
