🔌 Function

Carries fuel at injection pressure between the rail and an injector or pump, its formed ends sealing metal to metal.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Diesel weeping or dripping at a union, with a fuel smell in the engine bay
• Misfire, rough running or a knock from one cylinder
• Fault code, or rail pressure that will not hold
• Cone seat on the pipe end scored, bruised or ringed
• Pipe chafed or fretted where it is clamped

🛠️ Service Notes

• High-pressure pipes are single-use once the cone has been pulled up - never refit a disturbed pipe and never dress the sealing cone
• Depressurise the rail and observe the safe waiting time before opening any high-pressure union
• Torque to specification and refit every pipe clamp - an unsupported high-pressure pipe fatigues at the union
