🔧 Product Description

Brand-new genuine Volvo Penta relay for use in the Volvo Penta 24-volt engine electrical control circuit. It uses the specified coil voltage and contact arrangement to switch the controlled electrical load without routing full circuit current through the command switch or control unit. This is a 24-volt relay application; it must not be substituted with a relay that has a different contact map or coil voltage.

🚤 Compatibility

Typically suits:

  • Volvo Penta TWD1652GE
  • Volvo Penta TWD1653GE
  • Volvo Penta D16C-D MH
  • Volvo Penta TWD1644-45GE
  • Volvo Penta TAD1360-62VE
  • Volvo Penta TAD1363-65VE
  • Volvo Penta TAD1371-75VE
  • Volvo Penta TAD1340VE
  • Volvo Penta TAD1341VE
  • Volvo Penta TAD1342VE
  • Volvo Penta TAD1343VE
  • Volvo Penta TAD1344VE
  • Volvo Penta TAD1345VE
  • Volvo Penta TAD1350VE
  • Volvo Penta TAD1351-53VE
  • Engine Family: TWD, D, TAD

⚙️ Key Features

  • Genuine Volvo Penta electrical relay
  • Correct coil voltage and terminal arrangement
  • Designed for the specified switched load
  • Factory-compatible mounting and connector layout
  • Part-number controlled for the original wiring schematic
  • Engine type: Volvo Penta 24-volt marine or industrial electrical system

🔌 Function

Uses a low-current control signal to open or close the higher-current circuit required by the starter, power supply or engine-control system.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • No operation from the controlled circuit
  • Intermittent operation with vibration or temperature
  • Relay clicking without current transfer
  • Burnt, loose or overheated terminals
  • Welded contacts, excessive voltage drop or battery drain

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Isolate the batteries before removing or fitting a relay, and note the connections as they come off
  • Fit like for like — coil voltage, contact rating, pin layout and any diode or resistor built across the coil must match the original, since a relay that plugs in is not necessarily the correct one
  • Check the base, socket and terminals for corrosion, spread or burnt contacts and confirm the supply and earth paths before condemning a relay; damp connections and poor earths cause more of these faults than the contacts themselves
  • Mount the relay in its original clip or holder so it stays secure and as dry as possible — vibration and moisture are the usual killers in a marine installation
  • On petrol installations, only ignition-protected electrical devices should be fitted in the engine space or fuel tank compartment, so use parts approved for that use
