A genuine Volvo Penta formed seawater hose used in the thermostat-housing-to-exhaust cooling system of V8-270, V8-300 and V8-320 C/CE gasoline engines. This is the longer companion branch in the cooling-hose group and uses its own clamp size and connection orientation. Correct routing prevents contact with hot exhaust components and avoids restricting raw-water flow.

🛠️ Service Notes

• Fit hoses only to clean, sound spigots — take off old rubber, scale and corrosion, and renew the spigot or pipe if it is pitted, because no clamp will seal a rough sealing face
• Push the hose fully home so the clamp sits behind the bead or barb rather than over the end of the spigot, and fit new clamps whenever a hose is renewed
• Let the hose follow its natural bend with no kinks and no tension on either connection, clear of hot surfaces and moving parts, with chafe protection wherever it passes a bracket, edge or bulkhead
• Use the correct grade of hose for the duty, and clamp to the standard the installation demands — twin clamps are normal practice on seawater and fuel connections below the waterline
• Refill, vent and run the engine, then check every joint hot and cold and recheck the clamps after the first running period as the hose beds down
