Genuine hydraulic selector-valve assembly for Volvo Penta HS45A, HS63A and HS63IV marine transmissions. The valve routes pressurised transmission oil to the forward or reverse clutch circuit according to the shift command.

🔌 Function

The valve directs hydraulic pressure to the appropriate clutch pack and vents both clutch circuits when neutral is selected.

🛠️ Service Notes

  • The fitment list spans several HS-gearbox and D2/D3 sail-drive combinations - confirm the gearbox model stamped on its own tag before ordering, since a wrong-generation valve will not correctly phase forward/neutral/reverse
  • A sticking or slow-shifting spool is usually debris in the transmission oil rather than a fault in the valve itself - change the oil and filter and confirm the fault persists before condemning the valve
