Brand-new genuine Volvo Penta intermediate adapter plate used between the D9A2A engine/flywheel housing and the specified hydraulic reversing gear. The machined plate establishes the correct pilot diameter, bolt pattern and axial spacing for the transmission installation.

🔌 Function

Adapts and centres the reversing gear to the engine while setting the required driveline spacing.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Transmission misalignment or coupling vibration
  • Fretting around bolt holes
  • Damaged pilot surface
  • Repeated gearbox input-bearing or coupling wear

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Note which way round the plate came off, and where its dowels, locating pins and any oil or water passages sit; it will often bolt up reversed but will not work
  • Clean both faces fully, removing all old gasket and sealant without scoring them, and check the plate for flatness, cracks and corrosion
  • Fit new gaskets, seals and O-rings on both sides, and use sealant only where the workshop manual for your engine calls for it
  • Draw the fasteners down evenly, in the sequence and to the figures given for your engine, and check for leaks after the first run at temperature
