Brand-new genuine Volvo Penta rigid charge-air pipe used in the TAD1140VE-TAD1142VE cooling and inlet system. It connects the charge-air cooler to the intake plumbing through hoses 865127/1676199 and preserves the original boosted-air path.

🔌 Function

Transfers cooled compressed air between the charge-air cooler and intake manifold with minimal pressure loss.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Hissing or boost leakage
  • Oil mist around the hose joints
  • Cracks or chafing
  • Loss of power and high exhaust temperature
  • Hose separation from a damaged pipe bead

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Clean both sealing faces before assembly and check the rubber sleeves, seals and clamps; hardened, swollen or split sleeve rubber will not hold boost on a new pipe
  • Seat the pipe fully onto its spigots and set each clamp behind the bead before tightening, so pressure cannot push the joint apart
  • Align and support the pipe on its brackets so it is not pulled into tension — a pipe held under strain chafes, cracks and works its clamps loose
  • Check the bore for oil sludge and soot before fitting and clean it out; carried-over oil softens sleeve rubber and blackens a new pipe from the inside
  • Tighten clamps and any flange fasteners to the figures in the workshop manual for your engine, then re-check them after the first run under load
