🛠️ Service Notes

• Fit the cap specified for that filler on your engine — caps that look alike differ in seal, venting and pressure rating, and a substitute may hold the system at the wrong pressure or not seal at all
• Wipe the filler neck and check its sealing land for nicks, corrosion and distortion before fitting; many apparent cap leaks are actually neck leaks
• Check the cap's seal is soft and unbroken, and that any vent or breather hole through the cap is clear
• Seat the cap fully, to its stop or lock position — a cap left part-turned will weep, and on a pressurised system can lift
• Never open a cap on a hot pressurised system; let it cool first
