Creates the ignition spark that initiates combustion in each cylinder. Correct heat range, gap and terminal fit are necessary for clean starting, stable idle and full-load performance.

🛠️ Service Notes

• Fit only the plug type and heat range specified for your engine; a plug that physically fits but is the wrong specification will cause running problems or damage
• Clean the plug wells and the area around the seats before removing the old plugs, so no dirt or grit falls into a cylinder
• Check the electrode gap against the figure in the workshop manual for your engine before fitting, and handle the plugs so the electrodes are not knocked out of position
• Start each plug by hand and tighten to the specified figure — over-tightening strips the threads in an aluminium head, and under-tightening causes overheating and blow-by
• Renew the whole set together, read the old plugs for signs of oil, water or a mixture problem, and check the leads, boots and coils while access is good
