Brand-new genuine Volvo Penta crankcase flange closing the designated block gallery/service opening. It mounts with gasket 20412341 or 20933203 according to crankcase version and provides a rigid, pressure-tight closure.

🔌 Function

Closes and seals the machined crankcase opening while allowing access during manufacturing or service.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Oil or coolant leakage at the flange
  • Damaged screw threads
  • Repeated gasket failure from uneven clamp load

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Clean both mating faces back to clean metal and check them for flatness and for burrs or old gasket left in the sealing area; a face pulled up around a stud hole will not seal however hard it is tightened
  • Always fit a new gasket, seal or O-ring where the joint uses one, and only use a jointing compound if the workshop manual for your engine calls for one at that joint
  • Draw the fasteners up evenly in stages, working across the flange rather than round it, and finish to the tightening sequence and figures given for your engine
  • Inspect studs, nuts and threads while the joint is apart and renew anything corroded, stretched or seized — exhaust-side fasteners rarely come out twice
  • Re-check the joint for leaks once the engine has been up to working temperature and cooled again
