🔧 Product Description

Genuine Bosch hydraulic tandem or steering pump used on selected Volvo Penta D9, D11 and TAD11 diesel engines. It is an anti-clockwise vane-pump assembly with documented M16x1.5 and M26x1.5 connections.

🔌 Function

The pump supplies pressurised hydraulic fluid to the steering or servo system from the engine-driven accessory gear.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Heavy or intermittent steering
  • Low hydraulic pressure
  • Pump whine
  • Foaming or aerated hydraulic fluid
  • Shaft play or drive noise

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Work clean and cap the connections as they come off — a tandem pump serves two circuits from one drive, and dirt entering either one damages the pump and everything downstream of it
  • Renew the sealing rings, gaskets and mounting seals specified for the job, and check the drive and the mounting face for wear before fitting
  • Check the drive engages correctly and is neither preloaded nor misaligned as the fixings are tightened to the figures in the manual for your engine
  • Prime and bleed both circuits by the procedure for your engine before cranking, and do not run the pump dry
  • Work out why the old pump failed — contamination, a starved supply or a restricted return will take out the replacement as well — and renew the relevant filters at the same time
