🛠️ Service Notes

• Keep oil, fuel and solvents off the rubber during and after fitting; contamination softens and swells the rubber and destroys the isolation it is there to provide
• Tighten only enough to hold the part square and secure — a cushion has to stay slightly compressed to isolate vibration, and crushing it makes the mounting solid
• Where several cushions support one component, renew them as a set so the load shares evenly; a single new cushion alongside aged ones carries more than its share
• Check the bracket, spacer, washers and fasteners at the same time — a cushion that has failed early usually points to a loose fastener, a missing spacer or corrosion in the mounting
• Renew aged cushions whenever the component they support is disturbed; old rubber takes a permanent set and will not recover
