• Damaged housing seals or bypass leakage

🛠️ Service Notes

• Renew rather than clean — the element is not serviceable, and washing or blowing it through damages the media and lets dirt straight into the engine
• Wipe the housing out with a damp cloth before the new element goes in so nothing loose is left sitting downstream of the filter
• Check the element seals all the way round its seat and that the housing and cover are undamaged; air that gets past the seal has not been filtered at all
• Never run the engine with the element out, and fit a clean element before laying up rather than leaving a dirty one in place
• Change at the interval in the maintenance schedule for your engine, and more often in dusty or dirty engine-room conditions
