🔧 Product Description
Genuine Volvo Penta electrical bonding cable used in DPH steering-cylinder assemblies. The cable maintains equipotential bonding between the steering hardware and drive/transom assembly to reduce stray-current corrosion and preserve the designed electrical path.

⚙️ Key Features
- Genuine Volvo Penta steering bonding cable
- Used in DPH-A and DPH-D1 steering-cylinder assemblies
- Marine-grade terminals and conductor
- Helps maintain corrosion-protection continuity
- Inspect terminal cleanliness and cable flexibility during drive service
- Engine type: Marine diesel sterndrive installation with DPH steering
🔌 Function
Maintains electrical bonding across steering components so corrosion-protection currents have a reliable low-resistance path.
⚠️ Common Signs of Failure
- Green corrosion or broken conductor strands
- Loose or overheated cable terminals
- High resistance measured across the bonding path
- Accelerated corrosion near steering components
- Cable insulation cracked or oil-damaged
🛠️ Service Notes
- Isolate the battery before disconnecting or reconnecting anything, and make sure connectors are clean, dry and fully latched before switching the system back on
- Route the new cable along the original path and secure it with the original clips, ties and stand-offs; unsupported cable chafes through wherever it touches a bracket, hose or edge
- Keep the run clear of the exhaust and turbocharger, away from moving parts and sharp edges, and use a grommet or gland wherever it passes through a panel or bulkhead
- Protect the connections against damp — a properly seated and sealed connector survives an engine bilge atmosphere far better than a taped joint
- Replace a damaged cable rather than patching it; where a repair is unavoidable use a crimped and sealed joint, never solder as the only mechanical connection
