🛠️ Service Notes

• An anchorage carries load and vibration, so inspect the bracket itself as well as its fasteners — look for cracks, elongated holes and corrosion around the mounting faces
• Make sure the mating surfaces are clean and flat and that the part seats fully; packing out a bracket that does not fit puts bending load into it and into whatever it supports
• Fit new fasteners, washers and locking devices where the original arrangement used them, and tighten to the torque given in the workshop manual for your engine
• Where the anchorage includes a rubber element, keep oil, fuel and solvents off it, and renew it if it is softened, oil-swollen, split or collapsed
• Check the alignment of whatever the anchorage supports after fitting, and recheck the fasteners after the first period of running
