🛠️ Service Notes

• Use only hose rated for marine wet exhaust duty; ordinary coolant or water hose softens and collapses at exhaust temperature
• Push the hose fully onto the spigot and double-clamp each connection where the fitting allows, using corrosion-resistant clamps staggered so the screws sit on opposite sides
• Support the run on brackets or slings along its length so that nothing hangs on the joints, and keep a continuous fall away from the engine with no sag that can pond water back towards the exhaust valves
• Keep the hose clear of sharp edges and hot metal, protect it wherever it can chafe, and make sure engine movement is not being absorbed by the hose alone
• Run the engine after fitting and check the joints for water weeping and for exhaust smell or soot streaks, then re-check the clamps once the hose has bedded in
