Full model list at the end of this description.
⚙️ Key Features
- Factory-shaped for correct engine clearance
- Mounts with rubber grommets and spacers
- Accepts model-specific identification decals
- Direct replacement where part number 21231498 is specified
- Engine type: D3 five-cylinder turbocharged marine diesel
🔌 Function
Forms part of the engine's protective outer casing and helps isolate hot or moving components from accidental contact.
⚠️ Common Signs of Failure
- Broken locating tabs
- Cracks around the grommets
- Vibration or rattling
- Warping from heat
- Missing or damaged identification decal
🛠️ Service Notes
- This is the lighter companion panel (0.726 kg) to casing 21231496 (1.225 kg); together they form the complete D3 upper enclosure, so check both when replacing the cover as a set
- It mounts on the original rubber grommets and spacers and is shaped to still give access to the required service points — refit sound grommets rather than reusing perished ones
