🔌 Function

The hose transfers pressurised hydraulic fluid between the electronic steering valve, pump and steering actuator.

🛠️ Service Notes

• Cleanliness decides how long the job lasts — cap the open ends, keep dirt out of the ports, and wipe fittings before making them up, because contamination is what wrecks steering and trim components
• Fit the hose without twist, holding the hose body while tightening the union so it is not wound up as the nut turns, and renew the sealing washers or O-rings rather than reusing them, tightening unions to the figure in the workshop manual for your engine
• Route the hose with a generous sweep, clear of hot parts and sharp edges, and clip it so it cannot chafe or be pulled at either end through the full range of movement
• Top up and bleed the system afterwards, cycle it through full travel several times, then recheck the fluid level and inspect the connections for weeps under pressure
• Never search for a pressurised leak by hand — fluid escaping under pressure can penetrate skin
