A complete mechanical diesel injection pump for selected Volvo Penta MD2040 marine engines. The pump meters, pressurises and distributes fuel to the engine injectors in the correct firing sequence.

🔌 Function

Meters and pressurises diesel fuel and delivers it to each injector at the correct point in the combustion cycle.

• Cleanliness decides whether the job lasts — cap every opening as soon as it is disconnected, work with clean tools, and never let dirt or water into the pump or its lines
• The pump is a calibrated assembly: do not attempt to alter internal settings on board, and have any testing or calibration done on proper equipment by a qualified shop
• Set timing and mounting by the procedure in the workshop manual for your engine, and fit new seals, gaskets and sealing washers on refitting
• Renew the fuel filters and cure the cause of any failure before running a replacement pump; contaminated or watered fuel will destroy the new one too
• Prime and bleed the system properly before cranking, and note that electronically controlled pumps may need parameters set with Volvo Penta diagnostic equipment before the engine will run correctly
