🛠️ Service Notes

• Work clean: cap or plug every open union and injector as soon as it is disconnected, and fit the new pipe straight from its packaging — dirt introduced at a fuel joint is the most common cause of trouble afterwards
• Offer the pipe up so it lines up on both unions without strain, and never bend, twist or reshape a pipe to make it fit; a pipe that has been sprung into place fatigues and cracks in service
• High-pressure delivery pipes are treated as single-use in workshop practice — the union faces seal by deforming, so refit new pipes rather than reusing them, and tighten to the figure and sequence in the workshop manual for your engine
• Refit all original support clips and brackets in their proper positions so the pipe cannot chafe or vibrate against surrounding parts
• Bleed the system, then check the joints for leaks with the engine running and again once warm — never search for a diesel leak by hand, since fuel at injection pressure will penetrate skin
