🛠️ Service Notes

• Offer the pipe up so it lines up with both unions before either is tightened — springing a rigid oil pipe into place leaves it stressed and it will crack at a flange or a bend in service
• Renew the sealing washers, O-rings or gaskets at every union rather than reusing them, and never try to cure a weep by overtightening a union
• Check the pipe is clear and clean before fitting, and keep it capped until it goes on; after a bearing or turbocharger failure the debris is still in the pipework and will take the new part with it
• Support the pipe on its original clips, clear of hot and moving parts, and look for chafe marks where it passes a bracket or a bulkhead
• Run the engine after fitting, confirm oil pressure comes up, and check every joint for leaks warm as well as cold
