Genuine support bracket used in the crankcase-ventilation and oil-trap assembly of Volvo Penta D3 marine diesel engines. It has been replaced by bracket 21560971 and supports the oil trap, insert and breather hoses.

🔌 Function

The bracket supports the crankcase oil trap and maintains the breather hoses and filter insert in the correct position.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Oil mist or a crankcase smell in the engine bay from a disturbed breather run
  • Oil trap hanging low, tilted or moving when handled
  • Breather hoses kinked, stretched or chafed where the assembly has dropped
  • Bracket cracked at a bend or around a mounting hole
  • Mounting bolts found loose or their holes elongated on strip-down

  • This bracket has been replaced by 21560971 - order that number unless matching an existing build exactly
  • Check oil trap 21690243 and insert 21368879 while the assembly is apart, as a blocked trap is the more common cause of breather trouble
