🔌 Function

Carries movement from the helm control head to the engine's throttle lever or the reversing gear's shift lever, pushing and pulling a sliding inner wire inside a fixed outer conduit so that the lever position you set is reproduced at the engine end.

• Sticky, uneven action at the helm that is worse from cold
• Lever creeping or backing off on its own once load comes on
• Engine idling high or hunting because the cable will not let the lever close
• Crushed or split outer sheath, or a salt-crusted, weeping terminal
• Withdrawn inner wire kinked, frayed or gummed with hardened grease
