Factory-formed 500 mm oil hose used in the external drive-oil cooler circuit on specified Volvo Penta IPS-A installations. Its length and end fittings are configured for the applicable cooler and drive connection and it must not be substituted with the longer IPS-D hoses.

🔌 Function

Carries lubricating oil between the IPS drive and external oil cooler so transmission heat is removed during operation.

• Oil seepage at crimps or end fittings
• Hose cracking, hardening or abrasion
• Falling drive-oil level
• Elevated drive-oil temperature
• Hose collapse, kinking or contact damage

🛠️ Service Notes

• Catch and contain the oil, and cap or plug the openings as soon as the hose is off; anything that drops into an oil gallery goes straight round the engine
• Fit to clean, undamaged spigots or unions, with new sealing washers or O-rings where the connection uses them and new clamps on any push-fit joint
• Let the hose take its natural curve with no kink or twist, and refit every clip and chafe guard — an oil hose that fails over a hot surface is a fire risk, not just a leak
• Tighten unions to the workshop manual figures for your engine rather than by feel, as oil fittings distort easily
• Refill to the correct level, run the engine, confirm oil pressure comes up promptly, check the joints hot, then recheck the level once it has settled
