🔧 Product Description

Three-metre extension lead for the water-in-fuel sensor used with remotely mounted fuel-filter and separator installations. It preserves the sealed electrical connection between the filter sensor and engine harness where the standard lead does not reach.

🔌 Function

Extends the water-in-fuel sensor circuit so the engine control system can monitor a remotely located separator bowl.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Water-in-fuel warning absent despite water in the bowl
  • Intermittent or permanent sensor-circuit fault
  • Corroded or water-damaged connector pins
  • Chafed cable or broken conductors
  • False warning when the cable is moved

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Never cut, shorten, splice or otherwise modify a Volvo Penta cable harness — an extension cable is fitted between existing connectors, and a lengthened or repaired cable is not an accepted repair
  • Keep the total run length and the number of extensions within the limits given in the installation manual for your system; adding length or branches to a data bus produces intermittent faults rather than an honest failure
  • Mate connectors clean and dry, push them fully home until the lock clicks, keep protective caps on unused connectors, and do not grease or pack a sealed connector unless the manual specifies it
  • Route the cable clear of exhaust and turbocharger heat, away from sharp edges and moving parts, and clip it so it cannot chafe or hang on its plugs; leave a drip loop so water runs away from the connectors
  • Coil surplus length loosely and secure it somewhere dry rather than pulling the cable taut to take up slack
