Genuine coolant connection pipe used between the coolant pump and associated engine cooling passages on selected Volvo Penta D16 industrial and generating-set engines. It works with sealing ring 21423788 and replaces an earlier gasketed joint arrangement on applicable engines.

🔌 Function

The pipe forms a sealed coolant passage between the pump housing and engine cooling circuit.

🛠️ Service Notes

• Compare the new pipe with the old for length, bend form and end fittings before fitting, and blow it through to confirm it is clear of packing debris
• Renew the O-rings, sealing washers or gaskets at every joint the pipe uses rather than reusing the old ones
• Offer the pipe up and start all its fixings before tightening any of them, so it is not pulled into strain — a pipe forced into place will fret or crack at a joint
• Refit all clamps, brackets and supports in their original positions, and make sure the pipe is clear of hot surfaces and of anything that could chafe it
• Tighten unions to the figures in the workshop manual for that joint, then pressure-test or run the system and check for weeps before the boat goes back into service
