🔌 Function

Supplies both halves of the pod's counter-rotating pair, sized as one unit so the two propellers share the load the way the drive was designed for and let the engine reach its rated wide-open-throttle speed. Changing size changes how hard the engine has to work, which is what the Q2 designation records.

• Vibration caused by bent blades, impact damage or an unmatched pair

• Unequal loading after replacing only one propeller with the wrong Q size

• Both propellers of a drive must carry the same designation - fitting a Q2 propeller against any other size loads the engine wrongly, so renew the pair together and check the marking on each before fitting
• The Q2 front 21433602 and rear 21433612 are published at 34.927 kg and 54.885 kg, 1.36 kg less than the 91.172 kg published for the set, so the figures do not reconcile - order by the Q2 designation, never by weight
• For commercial running in polluted or debris-laden water Volvo Penta also lists the QE series, which has thicker blades than the Q for extra strength at a slight cost in top speed, and is approved for D13 IPS900, IPS1050 and IPS1200
