🛠️ Service Notes

• Fit the rubber clean and dry and keep oil, fuel and solvents off it; petroleum products swell and soften rubber and shorten the life of the mounting
• Renew the whole set together — one new rubber alongside sagged old ones throws the load and the alignment out
• Let the unit settle onto the rubbers before final tightening and tighten to the figure in the workshop manual for your engine; crushing a support rubber down hard destroys the isolation it exists to provide
• Check alignment and clearance after fitting and confirm that nothing which was free to move before is now touching a fixed surface
• Inspect at each service for splitting, perishing, separation from the metal and permanent sag, and replace on condition rather than waiting for a failure
