Allows controlled movement between rigid exhaust sections as the system heats, cools and vibrates, preventing excessive load at the turbocharger and exhaust-outlet flanges.

🛠️ Service Notes
- Check the part number against your engine or drive installation before fitting; compensators are matched to the system they work in and are not interchangeable between installations
- Note how the original is mounted and connected before it comes off, and reproduce the same routing, orientation and support so the new one is not fitted under strain
- Renew the gaskets, seals and O-rings that go with it, clean the mating faces, and tighten the fasteners and any unions evenly to the figures in the workshop manual for your engine
- Look for the reason the old one failed — a compensator usually gives up because of what is happening around it, and the same conditions will finish the replacement
- Check the installation for leaks and correct operation with the boat safely secured alongside before it is relied on under way
