Moulded raw-water hose used in Volvo Penta D4-G seawater-pump and seawater-filter installations. It carries seawater through the engine cooling circuit while maintaining the factory routing around belts, brackets and heat exchangers.

🔌 Function

Transfers raw seawater through the pump and filter circuit to the engine heat exchangers.

• Seawater leakage or salt deposits
• Cracking, swelling or soft spots
• Collapsed hose causing overheating
• Air entry and poor pump priming
• Chafing near belts or brackets

🛠️ Service Notes

• Fit hoses only to clean, sound spigots — take off old rubber, scale and corrosion, and renew the spigot or pipe if it is pitted, because no clamp will seal a rough sealing face
• Push the hose fully home so the clamp sits behind the bead or barb rather than over the end of the spigot, and fit new clamps whenever a hose is renewed
• Let the hose follow its natural bend with no kinks and no tension on either connection, clear of hot surfaces and moving parts, with chafe protection wherever it passes a bracket, edge or bulkhead
• Use the correct grade of hose for the duty, and clamp to the standard the installation demands — twin clamps are normal practice on seawater and fuel connections below the waterline
• Refill, vent and run the engine, then check every joint hot and cold and recheck the clamps after the first running period as the hose beds down
